I saw the new Star Trek tonight. They did break canon... yet explained to to keep within canon. Was very interesting. Can't wait to see it again.

Let me tell you about my week. A month ago I had schedule to take Thursday off from work so I could go see Angelica's son in a school play. Was good in theory till Wednesday night towards the end of work I started feeling sick. I drove home (a 4 minute compute) and threw up in the parking lot of my apartments and the fun didnt stop there. Several more times throughout the night. I was too sick to watch Lost. That should tell you how bad it was. So instead of spending my day off relaxing and going to a school play, it was spent in bed with a fever, chills and constant nausea. Friday was a tiny bit better. I did laundry but didnt have the energy to fold it. I slept a lot. Night and day for those 2 days all kinda melded together, sleeping a while, awake a while, repeat. Today I'm feeling a bit better. I'd say 80% back to normal.
But then today, my fish dies. I gotta say it's been a pretty crappy week.
I'm taking Angelica and Kimmy to see SubMotive tonight.

For those of us in the Seattle region, it's a white Christmas. Though I would be happy if all this shit melted by day's end.

Ben Moody - Never Turn Back |
] |
It sucks being sick. I started last Thursday, here I am exactly 1 week later and not any better. It's not the cough and cold that bugs me but it's been giving me splitting headaches along with it. blah. Last night I slept nearly 12 hours. I woke up and read a txt message from Angelica that said the boys were playing in the snow... I look outside, white everywhere. It was a good day not to go to work. I did bundle up and walk down to Dennys for some lunch. I live on a very steep hill and so my truck wont be going anywhere till this shit melts. I'll probably walk to work, or jump on the 150 bus on Saturday & Sunday. Those will be some interesting days. Running a callcenter with all of the 4 people that will probably show up to work.
So, once upon a time there was a band called Evanescence. It was a beautiful combination of Amy Lee, Ben Moody & David Hodges. Well Ben has a CD coming out this coming March, but today a bootleg EP of songs from the CD hit the net. Very good stuff. http://drop.io/benmoodymutinybootlegep I encourage you all to give it a listen.
Next week is Christmas. I've had my tree up since before Thanksgiving. It's pretty, I like it.
Time for some Ny-Quil. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Last night I went to see the new Kevin Smith movie: Zack & Miri Make A Porno. I honestly think it's his best movie yet. Topping even Mallrats. Everyone should go see it, take the kids, take the family, they'll love it.

I've invented a new drinking game called The McCain. Watch a debate or speech from John McCain, every time he says "My Friends" take a shot. It'll fuck you up fast.

|
| I feel like quoting something |
[18 Sep 2008|12:06am] |
Why shouldn't I work for the N.S.A.? That's a tough one, but I'll take a shot. Say I'm working at N.S.A. Somebody puts a code on my desk, something nobody else can break. Maybe I take a shot at it and maybe I break it. And I'm real happy with myself, 'cause I did my job well. But maybe that code was the location of some rebel army in North Africa or the Middle East. Once they have that location, they bomb the village where the rebels were hiding and fifteen hundred people I never met, never had no problem with, get killed. Now the politicians are sayin', "Oh, send in the Marines to secure the area" 'cause they don't give a shit. It won't be their kid over there, gettin' shot. Just like it wasn't them when their number got called, 'cause they were pullin' a tour in the National Guard. It'll be some kid from Southie takin' shrapnel in the ass. And he comes back to find that the plant he used to work at got exported to the country he just got back from. And the guy who put the shrapnel in his ass got his old job, 'cause he'll work for fifteen cents a day and no bathroom breaks. Meanwhile, he realizes the only reason he was over there in the first place was so we could install a government that would sell us oil at a good price. And, of course, the oil companies used the skirmish over there to scare up domestic oil prices. A cute little ancillary benefit for them, but it ain't helping my buddy at two-fifty a gallon. And they're takin' their sweet time bringin' the oil back, of course, and maybe even took the liberty of hiring an alcoholic skipper who likes to drink martinis and fuckin' play slalom with the icebergs, and it ain't too long 'til he hits one, spills the oil and kills all the sea life in the North Atlantic. So now my buddy's out of work and he can't afford to drive, so he's got to walk to the fuckin' job interviews, which sucks 'cause the shrapnel in his ass is givin' him chronic hemorrhoids. And meanwhile he's starvin', 'cause every time he tries to get a bite to eat, the only blue plate special they're servin' is North Atlantic scrod with Quaker State. So what did I think? I'm holdin' out for somethin' better. I figure fuck it, while I'm at it why not just shoot my buddy, take his job, give it to his sworn enemy, hike up gas prices, bomb a village, club a baby seal, hit the hash pipe and join the National Guard? I could be elected president.
...this was from 11 years ago when $2.50 was thought to be a lot for gas.

A lot has happened in the past month.
So about 2 and a half week ago on my days off (a Thursday & Friday) I helped 2 friends move apartments. Jeanie from old apartment to new apartment and Lisa/Caitlyn from old apartment to new apartment. 2 full households in 2 days. Yeh that was fun. Had a few other coworkers helping so it wasnt too bad. After it was all over they gave me a really touching Thank You card and a giftcard to Red Robin. I was truly blown away by it. All I expected was a pack of Bud Light. lol
So after the last night of moving I got things ready for a hot date the next night. In this case, a hot date meant Angelica coming over and watching Season 1 of The Office on DVD. But it went quite well, she came over the next night as well, watched some more Office, and we were officially dating.
At work this past week the boss has been handing out Mariner tickets. On Monday the Leads all got to go. On Wednesday it was Helpdesk's turn. So Dan, Jeanie, me, Angelica, Nicky & JD all got to go freeze our butts off and see the Mariners lose 2 to 0. lol I had an awesome time tho. Hope to go again sometime this summer. Or better yet a Seahawks game this fall.
( Take Me Out To The Ball Game... )
So that's where we are as of right now. Life is good, I'm the happiest I've been in years.
Back in March after I bought my truck, and I'm talking about 2 minutes after I drove it off the lot, I wanted to take it on a road trip. I discussed this with Katia and now, this Wednesday night she flies into Seattle. We'll go out to dinner where she'll get to meet the new girlfriend, then the next morning we'll be hitting the road to Cali. We'll take 3 days going down, traveling along the Oregon & California coast and through the Redwoods. Sunday I hope to meet up with some Bay Area peeps I know. Monday we'll head over to Lake Tahoe. Tuesday while returning from Lake Tahoe will visit my Aunt & Uncle near Modesto. Then Wednesday I'll head home solo, break it up over 2 days. I'm really quite excited for this. The cost of gas is gonna suckass but I dont really care cause it'll be worth it. Also being away from Angelica for over a week will be brutal too. I hadnt figured on that factor when I planned the trip originally. But to make up for it we're planning first week of June to head to the Ocean for an extended weekend. Can't wait.

All These Things That I've Done |
] |
So I'm watching Southland Tales. Its from the same guy that did Donnie Darko. It's just... weird. It's not a headtrip like DD was, but it does have some similarities. I'm still trying to decide if I like it or hate it. The fact it has like 20 stars in it doesnt help. 45% of which are from Saturday Night Live, 45% carried over from Donnie Darko (including Mrs Farmer), the other 10% are the stars of the flick. I think I'll need to see it a few more times. Richard Kelly def doesnt like Bush & the GOP.
This is the greatest scene ever! Justin Timberlake dreaming about The Killers song "All These Things That I've Done" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlaCPoQH2lg

Matt Nathanson |
] |
I'm taking 2 days PTO this week, Monday & Tuesday. Tonight I went to the Lifehouse concert, which is why I took the days off. The show opened with Honey-Honey which I was actually kinda impressed with. 2nd up was Matt Nathanson with his band. I've been listening to his new album a bit lately and I gotta say, he's damn good! His set was the highlight of the night. He did some fun coversongs of Rick Springfield & Journey. Loved it. Then Lifehouse. Let me say, I love their albums, all of them, its beautiful music. But live... they kinda bore me to be honest. This was the second time I've seen them too. The first time was when Tantric opened (rock), Lifehouse 2nd (mellow), 3 Doors Down closed (rock). They just didnt fit on that tour, thats what I contributed it to at least. But tonight they headlined and they were in their element, but same feeling. Matt I'd def go see again, but I dont think I'll bother with Lifehouse again, even tho I do still love their music.

When the first thing we see is Captain Dr Jack in the future, I rolled my eyes. I was so happy when I realized it was actually a Hurley ep. There's no better way to start the season than with a Hurley ep. I was happy to see Charlie too. No one's ever really dead.

TY/AOI/DH - Just A Little Girl |
] |
Is anyone else addicted to VH1's Celebrity Rehab w/ Dr Drew? I hate 99.5% of all reality shows but every once in a great while there's one that sucks me in, and I'm loving this one. They'll probably get Britney on there for Season2. I could do without Chyna this season, she's worthless. The little girl from Family Matters grew up into a hottie pot head, who'd thunk it? I'd hit it.

NOW I'M PISSED!!! Monday night my cellphone got corrupted. I got a replacement today, swapped over SIM card and battery, SAME PROBLEM happening on the new phone! I guess it's the SIM card, I dont know how that would effect it since it seems like a software issue, but for some reason.... I'll take both phones to Cingular tomorrow and maybe try a diff SIM to see if that does it.
I hate technology. It was another crappy day at work too. Tomorrow's my day off which I now get to spend figuring this phone shit out.
I put in for some vacation days for in 2 weeks, just for mental health days. When I found out Vanessa is touring and B is coming to Seattle I thought of cancelling that break and move it to November but right now I'm thinking I'll take both off. I NEED a break and I mean soon. I dont think I can survive till November at this rate.

Vanessa Carlton - Fools Like Me |
] |
I got a raise today. 2 months over due, but yay. Still grossly underpaid but whatever, if I was in it for the money I wouldn't be at YG in the first place.
Vanessa's CD hit the net a couple days ago. It's pretty good. There's a few places I'm probably overly critical of it, but oh well. It's good to have new music. Tonight I found out she's coming back to Seattle in November. Tickets go on sale next Friday. Should be a good show. Wonder how stoned she'll be this time. Cant top last time.
I WANT THE UNICORNS TO LIIIIIVE!
Other things in life are going pretty well. Overall closest I've come to contentness in quite a long time. Also probably means it wont last long.

Age Of Information - Outside |
] |
It dawned on me that I havnt updated here for a couple weeks. It's been a pretty busy couple weeks tho. Katia & Let flew into Seattle over Labor Day weekend. That was quite a lot of fun. I had sushi for the first time which was quite good I must say. That Saturday was Bumbershoot which was fun as always. The artist lineup wasnt the best, but we still had a good time. Katia & I met up with Jeanie after the Crowded House performance. We saw the Shins play the songs that will change your life I swear. I tried some Alligator On A Stick, which was good enough to get every time I go from now on. We went up the Space Needle, and has to be one of the clearest most beautiful days I've been up there in recent memory (it was SO foggy when I went last June, 0 visability). After that we saw Michael Ian Black. He was really funny! Michael Ian Black: Bumbershoot '07
A couple days later Hodges released his new CD. It took a couple days of working my ass off (with some major help from my coehorts like Katie, Katia, & Andrew) to get it done, but the Trading Yesterday Myspace got changed over to The Age Of Information, the TYboard got changed over to TheAgeOf.Info and after many hours of working with Steven, got the order page set up as well.

As for things at work, found out this week one of the supervisors is leaving. That was quite a surprise. I'm not sure when they will be hiring for that spot, cross that bridge when we get there. I have gotten some training to fill in when the regular leads are gone. I was in charge last night, everything was smooth(night crew rocks like that), except for one rep making a major policy violation. Today's my day off so I wasnt there but it sounded like some drama ensued from it. I'll be closing on Saturday too, thankfully that one rep doesn't work weekends.
And tonight I leave you with this. LISTER: I'm going out like I came in -- screaming and kicking. RIMMER: You can't whack death on the head! LISTER: If he comes near me I'm gonna rip his nipples off!
